FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Can I get Certified through Home Study?
Yes, In 1992 we developed the "Home Study" program. You can take our courses no matter where you live. We have certified students from most all states and several foreign countries.

How Does the Program Work?

We offer a total of ten courses. There are nine courses of study in Glass, Furniture, Jewelry, Pottery, Primitives, Metals. The tenth course will train you to research and produce professional appraisal documents, and will also show you how to produce a professional appraiser's resume.

You will receive video tapes and printed course booklets for each of the nine courses of study. Each course has ten lessons, followed by quizzes. Complete each course at your own pace; return the quizzes to the college for grading. Our faculty and staff are available to assist you along the way.

The lectures are also available on CD and will play on your computer, VCD and on most stand alone DVD players.

The tenth course in producing appraisal documents also serves as your final exam.

How Long Will It Take To Complete The Program And Become Certified?

The amount of time depends on the amount of time you have to pursue your studies. You should allow about 24 hours for each course. A reasonable average is the completion of one course module per month. Many students complete the program in as little as three months.
